Academics

The curriculum offered at CVCS has a balanced approach to each subject area using established curriculums such as Abeka and ACSI to challenge our students to excellence:

In science and history, students learn that God is the Author of all Truth as they learn their place in His world.

Math is taught both by memorization of facts and the use of manipulatives.

Reading is taught through a phonics/comprehension approach that is so successful our Kindergarten students are reading before they graduate.

Our program adheres to state standards while taking a Christ centered approach fostering academic, social, and spiritual growth of our students.

Specialized Classes
Physical Education
Our physical fitness program is designed at each level of education to meet the developmental needs of the students. Basic skills are combined with specialized athletic training to teach the students how the muscles of the body work as well as the rules of the games.

Our school takes part in the rigorous Presidential Fitness program. Each year we meet or exceed national standards with our young athletes.

Computer

Our computer lab offers support to broaden the learning experience that occurs in the classroom.  The skills students acquire in the computer lab prepare them to use the computer for class work here at CVCS as well as in the future. The lab has color printing, a scanner, and is networked and provides Internet access through DSL service.  The Internet is used for locating information on subjects that the students are learning in their classrooms.  Students get excited about doing research using contemporary technology.

Music

Music is an important part of our program with weekly music instruction for all grade levels as well as a worship team and Honor Choir.

Special Events

Our students have the opportunity to compete in such events as the ASCI Speech Meet, Spelling Bee, Math Olympics, Science Fair, Piano and Choral Festival. Special programs are planned for parents and families throughout the year such as our Christmas and Spring musicals, Country Fair, and our exciting Open House with Silent Auction.
